[DR] How to solve deductive reasoning questions

The Process

Take note of the time frame you need to work within, eg: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

  1. What is the earliest possible/potential time that could solve the scheduling situation?
  2. Test that time against the parties’ existing commitments
  3. When there is a clash, reset and ask what the next earliest possible time could be
  4. Repeat – Test the next possible time slot against the parties’ existing commitments

Pro Tip

To begin with, I encourage you to use the “grid” I share with you in this video. However, once you feel confident with the process it is not necessary to use the grid, simply use the M9, T3, W10 method for greater efficiency.

Caution

Once your confidence grows with this process, you’ll become very efficient at answering these questions. When that happens it’s easy to move too quickly, which can lead to mistakes. Take care!

New LESSONS

I’m working on new lessons as we speak!
We’ve also just added additional (new style) questions to your deductive reasoning practice exams.
